This weekend, we welcomed our fabulous alumni to the Mosher Alumni House! Our alumni gave us some great tips for preparing for the industry and shared what helped them become successful in the field. We had so much fun meeting new people, connecting with old friends, and learning more about what life is like after graduating from UCSB.
Data Science UCSB members connected with our alumni on a professional and personal level throughout the event, showing up with great questions prepared for our alumni. Across the board, our alumni agreed that the most important thing to prepare for the industry is networking, followed by side projects and internships.
The alumni event was followed by a social at the DS house with tacos and tasteful music. As said by our wise alumnus Calvin Wang, “After the sun goes down, it’s not data science - it’s delta psi,” (@gucci wang).
